Salting Sidewalks

Salt & Ice Melt Stations  🧊🧂

This winter we’ve added multiple resident-use salt and ice melt stations strategically placed around the property and should not be moved.  We’ve implemented this service at half the cost charged by our vendors, allowing us to provide additional buckets for shared access! The salt and ice melt mixture is designed to be gentle, consisting of 1/2 pet-friendly salt and 1/2 less surface damaging salt. These buckets are intended for use on common element sidewalks, steps, and at mailbox stations for your everyday walks and trips to your vehicle. Please note that these are not intended for use on streets or inside patios (other than a straight path from the sidewalk to your front door).

When applying the melt, please remember that less is often more: the trick is spreading the mixture wide and thinly—then allow the sunlight and warmth to let the mixture do its work. Please refrain from over-salting. Most importantly, ensure you snugly return the cover after each use, as moisture will cause the salt to clump or harden, making more work for others or rendering the mixture useless. We will be monitoring bucket levels and will do our best to restock them promptly throughout the season.  If you notice one of the containers is nearly empty, please notify RowCal Property Management so we can replenish the container.
